Today we ventured over to Carmel to Soho Cafe & Gallery. Our drinks of choice were a White Chocolate Mocha and a Leprechaun (Amaretto & Irish Cream). They were lightly sweet and very creamy with properly frothed milk. Unfortunately, Claire thought the coffee lacked flavor, and felt that the espresso was much fainter than expected. I personally love their coffee and I know I’ll be back many more times as they also have great breakfast food and sandwiches. The cafe itself has an open feel, with nicely spaced sturdy tables and a diverse selection of artwork for sale. If you appreciate art as we do, you should stop in to look at their art gallery and have some coffee! We appreciate the friendly, professional staff they have at Soho and look forward to returning again and again! As for this week’s game of choice, we’re in a rush to have a latte fun so read on to learn how we made our coffee.
We’re back with another at home segment to play Wise and Otherwise, a bluffing party game for 2 - 6 players. Do you like to stretch your creative and witty thinking to bluff your way through a game? How much do you know about old proverbs and phrases throughout history? How good are you at deceiving others around you to believing that something sounds convincing, but is entirely false? Are you a wise individual or just a smarty pants? You’ll have to really prove your creativity in this one to get to the end first, so read on to see our thoughts.
Today we return for another home segment with big box games and numerous small components to play the first edition of Mission: Red Planet. Since this game has a steampunk theme, we had to incorporate Dieselpunk beer. The refreshing honey amber flavor provides a sweet, and light taste to enhance our gaming experience. In the year 1888, steam technology has advanced to prodigious heights. Automated probes have been sent to Mars, and transmitted their latest reports back. These reports unequivocally reveal the planet's ground is composed of resources of immeasurable value. The first resource known as Celerium, a new element for the periodic table, and a combustible energy to increase 1000 times the power within a single engine. The second known as Sylvanite, is a material denser than anything found on earth. If we can locate ice, we can use this to create an atmosphere, which would allow the planet to be colonized. As the leader of a mining company, you must control the deposits hidden underneath the surface of the red planet in order to exploit these new resources. Our trip to Mars cannot wait any longer. Read on to learn how this process will unfold.
Today we have two more of our friends joining us at MoJoe's Coffeehouse in downtown Indy off of Michigan St. to play the classic, creative, storytelling game known as Dixit. The staff at MoJoe's Coffeehouse were respectful and have served me well the times that I have gone there before. The two most important things to us no matter where we get our brewed drinks, is that the people are kind and the beverages are great, both of which MoJoe's Coffeehouse has fulfilled for us, and we look forward to returning again. Dixit is a 3 - 6 player, storytelling, voting, party game primarily geared toward the creative and open-minded individual. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so come with us as we delve into the abyss of artistic dreams to explore the mystique and wonder that is Dixit.
