For those of you who are unaware, Buy The Rights is a movie pitching party game for 3 to 10 players. There are 4 card types you will use each turn : Genre, Descriptor, Hero and Plot. One player each turn will be The Producer and the others are Screenwriters. The goal? Coming up with the best movie pitch using each card type and a lot of imagination. The Producer has a budget of $20 million to spend on the movie ideas they like the best and it can be split up however they choose. This game really lends itself to storytelling, but also fun player interaction. We reviewed it here while it was still on Kickstarter and have found it to be a lot of fun to play with friends. It felt like a good choice for our giveaway because it combines 2 of our favorite things- supporting local creators and games that encourage player interaction.
We addressed several questions from last year and there weren't really any new ones since then. Therefore there isn't as much to cover this year, but we are grateful for the interest that each reader puts into our blog.
How about a quick look back on our favorite games ever since our 1st Blogiversary from last year? The following are our top 5 favorite games that we reviewed since then:
1) Blood Rage 1) Blood Rage
2) Roll For the Galaxy 2) Euphoria
3) Tuscany 3) Ticket To Ride: Rails & Sails
4) Mystic Vale 4) Sushi GO! Party
5) Lanterns 5) L.O.T.R. The Deck Building Game
If you're interested in entering into the contest (within the US only unless you're attending Gen Con), to keep this thematic with Buy The Rights, all you have to do is either:
1) Email us at email@example.com and say your favorite movie of all time.
2) Hashtag your favorite movie of all time in the Instagram Blogiversary post.
The contest will remain open until March 31st at midnight. Like other contests, we will randomly draw from the pool of submitted names and contact you requesting your shipping address. We thank all of our readers once again for your commitment to our blog and we hope you've enjoyed reading as much as we've enjoyed posting our reviews.
