Top 10 Expansions We Own: #6

The newly discovered outer worlds, with their rich, untapped resources, are tempting targets for those seeking to expand their power.  Now, the scramble for control of these unclaimed territories begins.  Will you outwit your opponents and claim victory in the Colony Wars, or fail and see your Star Realm lost?  Coming in at #6 is Star Realms: Colony Wars.  Everyone that knows about this game, understands that the expansions are typically small, including 12 new cards in each expansion.  Colony Wars is a full standalone/expansion for Star Realms and this is one of the primary reasons we have placed it in our number 6 spot.  There are a lot more cards in this expansion so read on to get a brief rundown on the game.

Top 10 Expansions We Own: #8

For this weeks review we look at our number 8 spot of our top 10 expansions that we own.  Claire and I don’t always see eye to eye on all of the social deduction games we own, but Coup is definitely one that we both thoroughly enjoy.  In the story of Coup Reformation, the resistance has gained popular support and entire regions are in open rebellion.  In a desperate attempt to stay in control, some government leaders are publicly supporting the reforms demanded by the resistance.  However, allegiances are constantly shifting, and can be bought for the right price.  The opportunity for intrigue and bluffing has never been greater.  The cost of failure couldn’t be higher.  Even with talk of reformation, only one can survive.

Party On Wayne!

Happy New Year everyone!  Kicking off the new year, we returned to the always enjoyable Redemption Alewerks in Fishers off of 96th St. to play the 2 - 4 player social deduction game, Love Letter: Batman Edition.  A lot of gamers who enjoy social deduction games have more likely than not played the original Love Letter card game.  This version carries a DC comics theme with Batman at the front of the line.  Check out the process of this fun micro game!

Coup d'etawesome

This week we visited Calvin Fletchers Coffee Company in Fountain Square to play Coup.  Our experience was very nice.  The employees are very kind and attentive, and the beverages really hit the spot!  The environment was relaxed, art-centric and welcoming.  We very much enjoyed the service we received from Calvin Fletchers Coffee and look forward to returning again!  Today's awesome game of choice is Coup, the dystopian future, social deduction, player elimination game so get ready for a mix of deceitful, but also truthful allegations and backstabbery.

Sci-Fi Sunday at Noble Coffee & Tea

Today on Boards & Brews, Claire and I prepare for our first official review!  We've made it a Sci-Fi Sunday and played Star Realms.  Star Realms is a fast-paced, in-depth, yet easy to learn Sci-Fi deck building game.  As usual, our location was the delightful Noble Coffee & Tea in downtown Noblesville.  The game is based around three primary resources, health, damage and currency which in this game are referred to as authority, combat, and trade.  The end goal in this game is that you are attempting to reduce your opponents authority points to zero.  Trust me, you'll want to read more to learn about this game and prepare for awesomeness...
