Say Anything (Not the 80's Flick)

Today we took a break from our usual strategic segments to play a party game. Everyone who lived and was conscious during the 80's, probably knows about the classic John Cusack film, Say Anything.  This post will not be about that awesome film!  Today we visited Books and Brews off of 96th St.  Books and Brews specializes in craft beers, appetizers, sandwiches, and their own bookstore!  I was proud to see they also have a working original NES from 1985 for retro video game nights.  Their staff were conscientious, respectful and we really enjoyed coming in to play board games!
They also have an assortment of board games for their customers but today, we brought in our own board game, Say Anything.  On Sundays and Tuesdays they provide a board game event which customers can take part in and earn rewards just by playing games!
Say Anything is a light-hearted party game that allows you to see how your friends think.  You draw a card and then ask one of the specified questions on the card.  One of the cards could say, "In my opinion... the best boardgame is..." or "What is a classic John Cusack film from the 80's?"  Everyone else will then write down an answer, and place it in the middle of the table face up.  The judge who read the card, gets to secretly choose an answer that he/she wants as the best response.  Players then get to bid on which answer they think the judge chose using their tokens, and the points are awarded to the players that chose the correct answer.  This is a very straight forward party/family game that is a lot of fun.  Both kids and adults can have a lot of fun with this one.  If you're looking for a good party game to add to your collection, this would be an exceptional purchase.
